About Us

My desire to create KVS Pasal has been long in coming. My husband, Dave, has been assigned all over the world (Egypt, Sri Lanka, Germany, India and Nepal) and I've been blessed to be able to travel to many wonderful places. While in Nepal, I fell in love with the artisans, many of whom became my friends. I was awed by their meticulous attention to detail and hand-crafted work.

When I got back to the United States, I was appalled to discover how terribly overpriced such items where through other merchants. I wanted to make these treasure of the world readily available to people in the U.S., so KVS Pasal was born. By the way, Pasal means "store" in Nepal. Today, I work with dozens of craftsmen and women, who create fabulous, eclectic and unique items especially for my customers.

My artisan friends tell me the stones in their jewelry come from all over the world, but mostly from India, China, and particularly Bali, where the pearl, shell, sponge coral, mother of pearl and abalone come from. Because my artists work with foreign nations, they have access to unusual stones found only in those parts of the world and that are not readily available in the U.S.

The cashmere comes from Mongolia. The artists hand spin the cashmere fiber because they feel the slightly irregular spun yarn brings out the true intriguing texture of the yarn. The clothing and other products are hand woven with skill, technique and precision that has been passed down through dozens of generations.  The cashmere is sometimes mixed with other all-natural fibers like silk, raw silk, modal, linen and fine wool.
